I want my content to be shared and reach as wide and far across the globe as possible – doesn’t everyone?
After all, tweets with images receive 18% more clicks, 89% more likes and 150% more retweets (HubSpot). Unfortunately we don’t all have the budget to hire a team just to create content to help us achieve this.
That’s no reason to give up hope though, there are some fantastic resources out there to help you create amazing visual content that your audience will love to share and you can create them yourself regardless of whether you don’t know your Photoshop from your Paint.
These are some of the tried and tested resources that I use, so I hope they can help you too.
I love Canva. It’s probably my number 1 go-to online design resource. It’s a brilliant tool with a wide range of templates designed specifically for social media posts, blogs, eBooks, posters, business cards and more.
The size and format of Facebook ads, Instagram posts, social media covers, are all preset so all I have to do is slot in the graphics I want, place my text and I’m good to go. It’s actually as easy as that!
There’s also a treasure trove of graphics and photos (both free and paid) for you to use, and for once the paid version of a resource (particularly graphics) isn’t astronomical in price – each paid photo is $1, so approximately 66p!
Sometimes I have a few photos to post, that exceed the Twitter limit, or that I want to put in a singular Facebook or Instagram post – and this is when Fotor steps in.
It’s brilliant for creating both professional looking collages, or if I want to do something a bit more creative and make a collage uniquely shaped and edit them with stickers and text.
Like Canva, Fotor has recently brought in the option for templates designed specifically for social media, so you’ve got the bet of both worlds.
Now I’m no graphic designer, I was never blessed in the art skills department, but even I can put together an amazing (if I say so myself) infographic using this. There’s so many formats you can adapt, and they’re all themed around different topics so most of the work is already done for you!
You can make reports, presentations, infographics, and posters, either from the Lite (free) or Pro (paid) version.
It’s really simple to add text, graphics, illustrations, photos, or upload your own images, and you can download them for later or upload them online for others to see either publicly or share with your team members. I’m definitely a fan of this software.
